Hi everyone! My name is Tiffany and I am super excited to be on board for PPASO this year! I have met so many amazing people through PPASO and I think it's amazing seeing how much the club and profession has grown. It has been a crazy time but I hope that PPASO can provide some sense of normalcy for people as they get to meet people on the same path as them. I am super excited to get to (hopefully) see everyone in person! Please don't hesitate if you have any questions or if you just want to talk! :)

Year: 2nd
College: Revelle
Major: Global Health
Minor: Biology
Hobbies: Sightseeing, hiking, baking
Hello everyone! My name is Michelle. Though I am a second year and have only experienced online PPASO events, I have still been able to meet such passionate and driven people who have the same aspirations as me. PPASO has given pre-PA students so many opportunities to not only learn more about the PA profession, but also provide events to network and connect with PAs to better prepare us to apply to PA school. These opportunities and events have only further solidified my passion for the PA profession and I am excited for what’s in store for PPASO this year. I look forward to meeting everyone and being a part of the board to serve as your secretary!

Co-Treasurers

Mark Guiriba
Year: 2nd year transfer
College: Sixth
Major: Public Health with Concentration in Medicine Sciences
Hobbies: Rock climbing, playing the guitar and piano, skating
Hi! My name is Mark and I’m a senior (2nd year transfer student) majoring in public health. Outside of school, I enjoy pursuing music and staying physically active. I’ve previously been involved in my local church’s music ministry, participating in the choir and occasionally playing guitar. Physical activity is also a passion of mine, whether that be through rock climbing, lifting, or skating. On the academic/career side of things, PPASO has definitely helped clear up the nebulous process of becoming a PA for me. From meeting other pre-PA students, having MMI workshops, and even connecting students with PAs, PPASO has many resources to offer for those looking to learn more about the profession! I hope PPASO can help you with your journey of becoming a PA and if you ever have any questions, or even want to connect to go climbing or jam, feel free to reach out! :)

Hobbies: Skateboarding, baking, thrifting, and catching sunsets
Hi I'm Christine and I joined PPASO to explore my career path of being a PA. The community has given me a lot of resources and insight that I need as a pre-PA student. For example, I've really made use of the networking events like Zoom with a PA where I learned more about people's passions and experiences in healthcare that I can utilize personally. All in all, I'm excited for the PPASO events this coming year, and I look forward to seeing you guys in person!

Hello! My name is Crystal, and I have been involved in PPASO since my first year at UCSD. Outside of school, I work as a Physical Therapy Aide, volunteer with Asian Pacific Health Foundation (APHF), and am a Pathmaker Intern. Although I came into college with the pre-PA route already in mind, joining PPASO has really allowed me to become more passionate about the profession and all the obstacles that come with it. Not only has PPASO offered me countless resources and information, it's given me a talented, supportive community that keeps me motivated every step of the way :) I look forward to this year, and hope to meet everyone!

Being in PPASO at UCSD allowed me to find a supporting community to look up to on my pre-PA route. I also love participating in PPASO’s diverse community service events! This year, I look forward to helping educate more members about PPASO’s resources and potentially guide younger members that were once in my spot. I hope to see yall at our future meetings!

Hey everyone! My name is Cassidy and I've been involved with PPASO since my 2nd year. Joining PPASO has definitely changed my college experience because I have met numerous people who share similar passions that I have. Being involved in such a warm and welcoming community, especially during the pandemic, has definitely helped further my interests in pursuing the pre-PA route. I hope to be able to create a similar positive environment to help others who are also working towards the same goal as me. I am looking forward to finally being able to safely meet everyone and be a part of this amazing board!
Social Chair
Erin Zeider
Year: 4th
College: Marshall
Major: Human Biology
Hobbies: Watching baseball, anime, walking my dogs, and action movies
Hello everyone! My name is Erin and I am the social board for PPASO. The reason why I am pre-PA is because of the fact I am a huge science nerd with a big heart, and the PA profession gives me the ability to hone both my science and altruistic passions. Since joining PPASO in my 3rd year, I have gained so much insight about the PA profession, and I am more confident on my road to PA school. PPASO has taught me so much and has allowed me to help others on their pre-PA journey's too. One of my pre-PA tips would be to seek out the many online resources PPASO and other sites provide about PAs and the application process. I look forward to seeing you all at the many socials we will be hosting this year!

Hi! My name is Tasneem and I am a 4th year at UCSD. I am honored to be one of your co-presidents for this upcoming year :) PPASO has helped me pursue the pre-PA route by exposing me to the ins and outs of the PA profession through PA panels, mentorship, and Dine with a PA events. It reinforced my passion for healthcare and allowed me to meet many amazing PAs and driven individuals that make the PPASO community so much stronger. I look forward to meeting you all in person and to help support you on your own pre-PA journey!

Hi everyone! My name is Alexis, and I have been involved with PPASO since the beginning of my second year. PPASO has given me the opportunity to create new friends and learn about the PA career. This organization has helped me be certain that this is what I want to do in life, and what it takes to get there. There has been countless of opportunities to communicate with PA's, pre-PA students, and gain experience! It is also so rewarding to help others on their pre-PA journey, and I am so grateful to be apart of that! I absolutely love my PPASO family, and it is continuously growing!

Former Co-Public Relations
Year: 2nd Year Transfer
College: Sixth
Major: Public Health w/ Concentration in Medicine Sciences
Minor: Health Care - Social Issues
Hobbies: House music, ice skating, traveling, exploring new cafes to study at, cuddling my cat
Hi everyone! My name is Chris, and I have been part of PPASO since my first year transferring to UCSD. I’m originally from the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, where I transferred from my local community college. PPASO has allowed me to connect with likeminded pre-PAs, gain information from various PA programs, and provided ample opportunities to network with and shadow PAs. I have previous experience working as a CNA in settings such as long term care/rehabilitation, neuro-telemetry, and COVID intermediate care in addition to working as a float pool ED tech across five different emergency departments across the county amidst the second COVID surges. Additionally, I manage social media for GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality, which has been an extremely meaningful opportunity to me to assist in efforts of decreasing health disparities and gaining mentorship from other queer healthcare professionals. I look forward to working as one of the Public Relations Coordinators for PPASO to assist other pre-PAs throughout their journey, especially those who are often underrepresented in medicine. My biggest tip for pre-PAs Is to do everything with intention and ensure that your experiences are meaningful to you.
