Hi everyone! My name is Nitya, and I’m a third-year General Biology major in Sixth College. I first joined PPASO to learn more about the PA profession, and ended up finding a supportive community of students who share the same interests, drive, and curiosity about healthcare. Being an international student, I was excited to attend UCSD and be exposed to opportunities beyond the classroom, and PPASO has played a huge role in shaping my path. PPASO has given me access to networking opportunities, guidance from mentors, and hands-on experiences that have inspired me to stay committed to this career path. As I continue my third year, I’m looking forward to staying involved with PPASO as your Co-Public Relations Coordinator and giving back to the community that has already given me so much.
Favorite PPASO Memory: One of my favorite memories has been volunteering at the PATH Dinner Service. It was such a fulfilling experience being able to serve the community alongside other PPASO members. It was refreshing to actively interact with the community that I hope to be able to help as a future PA. This experience accentuated how meaningful healthcare can be, emphasising human connection.
